Chief Security Architect, Mobile Platform, Architecture Division,
Intel Corporation, USA

Date: June 26, 2007

With the ever-increasing number of reports of embarrassing data breaches, and with the emerging set of stringent data privacy regulations such as HIPPS and SOX, there?s a sense of urgency for adopting encryption technology.

This presentation sheds some light on data-theft prevention from legal as well as technical perspectives. Differentiation between internal and external threats and attack methods will be explained. Also, methods for applying encryption strategically and for detecting and auditing data-theft will be described.
