WORLDCOMP'10 Steering Committee's Welcome Continue

The last offering of WORLDCOMP (2009) attracted 1,900 computer science and engineering researchers from 81 countries. It is anticipated that WORLDCOMP'10 will attract over 2,000 participants. The Congress is composed of 22 (planned) major conferences; each conference will have its own program committee as well as referees – attendees will have full access to all 22 conferences' sessions, tracks, and planned tutorials. A number of individual research tracks of WORLDCOMP have been held for many years; for example, PDPTA has been held annually since 1995 (PDPTA'10 is the 16th annual conference); ERSA has been held annually since 2001 (ERSA'10 is the 10th annual conference); ICAI has been held annually since 1999 (ICAI'10 is the 12th annual conference); other tracks of WORLDCOMP Congress have similar records. All conferences will be held simultaneously (same location and dates: July 12-15, 2010, Las Vegas, USA). Each conference will have its own proceedings. All proceedings/books will be indexed in Inspec/IET/The Institute for Engineering and Technology, DBLP/CS Bibliography (these are major database indexes that are designed to provide easy access to the current literature of sciences). Soon after the congress, selected authors will be invited to publish the extended versions of their papers in various special issues of journals, edited research books, and authored books (as chapters).

In 2009, WORLDCOMP attracted 1,900 participants; 49% from outside USA (80 countries), 50% from USA (48 states), and 1% unknown. 24% of participants were non-author/non-speaker attendees. 68% of participants were from academia, 20% from industry, 11% from government agencies, and 1% unknown. We anticipate to have similar demography for WORLDCOMP 2010.

Holland (known as Father of Genetic Algorithms; University of Michigan), Prof. Ian Foster (known as Father of Grid Computing; U. of Chicago & ANL), Prof. Ruzena Bajcsy (pioneer/VR, University of California, Berkeley), Prof. Barry Vercoe (Founding member of MIT Media Lab, Massachusetts Institute of Technology), Dr. Jim Gettys (known as X-man, developer of X Window System, xhost, ...), Prof. John Koza (known as Father of Genetic Programming, Stanford University), Prof. Brian D. Athey (NIH Program director, University of Michigan), Prof. Viktor K. Prasanna (pioneer, University of Southern California), Dr. Jose L. Munoz (NSF Program Director and Consultant), Prof. Jun Liu (Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard University), Anousheh Ansari (CEO, Prodea Systems and first female private space explorer), and a number of other distinguished speakers.
